If you’re an organic chemist, you almost certainly order reagents and intermediates from supplier catalogues. But behind the catalogues lies a complex web of manufacturers and distributors, such that when you order something, especially if you want a lot of it, you might be surprised to find out who originally made it - if that’s even possible.
