Raw beauty and low cost of living are two bonuses for moving to the Valleys

Situated on the west coast of Great Britain and surrounded on three sides by the Irish Sea and Bristol Channel, Wales (or Cymru as some locals prefer) is one of the four countries that make up the United Kingdom. Largely mountainous except for the southern coastline, the country is home to around three million people. The vast majority of the population live in the south, particularly around Welsh capital Cardiff and major cities such as Swansea and Newport; other hotspots include the coastal town of Aberystwyth and the north-eastern corridor near to the border with England.
